Lecture: How is Internet policy different in other countries?

(or sign out to post nothing.)

Web Reading: Regulating Internet Content Through Intermediaries in Europe and the USA

Frydman, B., & Rorive, I. (2002). Regulating Internet Content through Intermediaries in Europe and the USA. Zeitschrift für Rechtssoziologie, 23(1), 41-59. http://www.droit-technologie.org/dossiers/ Frydman_Rorive_Regulating_Internet_through_intermediaries.pdf

Assignment: BLOG POST: New media change old laws

In part, the Frydman and Rorive article explains that there are differences in two legal instruments that guarantee freedom of speech: Article 10 of the European Convention on Human Rights and Amendment I of the United States Bill of Rights. How are new media technologies changing the meaning or enforcement of these laws? Post an answer in your blog that is at least 200 words. DEADLINE: 1 p.m. -- one hour before class begins.
